There are four types of Past Tense:
Simple past: This tense is used to describe an action that was completed in the past. For example,
"I walked to the store."
Past continuous: This tense is used to describe an action that was in progress at a specific time in the past. For example,
"I was walking to the store when I saw a cat."
Past perfect: This tense is used to describe an action that was completed before another action in the past. For example,
"I had walked to the store before I saw the cat."
Past perfect continuous: This tense is used to describe an action that was in progress before another action in the past. For example,
"I had been walking to the store for 20 minutes before I saw the cat."
