Types of Conditional sentences

Conditional Sentences:-

Conditional sentences are statements that describe what will happen under certain conditions. They are formed using "if" clauses, which contain the conditions, and main clauses, which contain the consequences of those conditions being met.

There are about six types of conditional sentences:

Zero Conditional:

This type of sentence describes a real/ true situation. It's structure is: If + subject + simple present tense(first clause), subject + simple present tense(second clause). For example:

If we don't take proper diet, we get weak.

First Conditional:

This type of sentence describes a likely situation and its likely result. The structure is: "If + subject + present tense, subject + future tense + object." Example:

If he works hard, he will pass the exam.

Second Conditional:

If I won the lottery, I would travel the world.

Third Conditional:

This type of sentence describes an imaginary situation in the past and its imagined result. The structure is: If + subject + past perfect tense, subject + would + have + past participle." Example:

If I had studied hard, I would have passed the exam.
